The contradiction that I see is that they are saying (implying) from the announcement is:
1. Shows have been encountered over 180'. (The implication to me is that it is constant over the 180', (They have not defined this)
2. While encouraging it is not possible to predict whether they represent producible hydrocarbons. (Why would you make an announcement with such scant information to support the oil shows?)
3. The well is still drilling to the TD??
I do not profess to be an oiler but I would imagine when drilling you could get shows that do not amount to much at all. Also shows that are not supported by hydrocarbons to me would not carry any significance.
It seems to me that they have been a bit too quick to release the information and it is lacking substance. I would have expected that a release would be made at the completion of the drilling and the running of wire line logs.
Maybe I am used to the releases from NEN that are detailed and can be supported with hard evidence.
In essence they have said they have had oil shows(not detailed) with no hydrocarbons.
As I said I wish them well but to me the announcement is ambiguous and odd.
The contradiction that I see is that they are saying (implying)...
