I worked for Ferrier Hodgson when it was called Hamilton & Ferrier. I left after what I had witnessed. Perhaps im a bit too high minded for this world.
Now ASIC and the various policing bodies cannot begin to act till they have a complaint in writing from someone. Lets forward this complaint to them and see if they do anything. They can stop everything in its tracks if it looks like foul play. This will be from the US operator, by the looks. As for the Receiver, they just worry about their fees and keeping the client who hired them (usually a bank) happy. No one else really gets taken into consideration, in my experience.
