Zip Co “continued its strong momentum” in the December quarter results driven by an “exceptional holiday trading period” the company says in its 2QFY25 results.
Total transaction volume rose 25 per cent on-year to $3.4bn, revenue rose 21 per cent to $269.4m and cash EBTDA rose 50 per cent to $35.3m.Zip’s revenue margin fell to 7.9 per cent from 8.2 per cent while its cash transaction margin rose to 3.6 per cent from 3.5 per cent.
Active customers at quarter end were 6.3m, up 1.5 per cent on-year. Merchants on Zip’s platforms rose 7.6 per cent to 81,9000, including the addition of Heritage Grocers in the US, and Lagardère Travel Retail, Travello and James Pascoe Group (Prouds, Angus & Coote and Goldmark) in Australia.
The rollout of Zip Plus saw an increase in the Australian portfolio yield, up 110 basis points year on year to 18.6 per cent despite a high interest rate environment
