What is the difference between short positions and short sales?
How can they be returned outside the market?
I thought that once you shortsell a stock you had to buy it at some point in the future.

Still hold my 500000 shares from years ago... not sold one... my paper profits took a big hit but the fundamentals of GXY are still positive.
