It was posted earlier, that the release of additional funding to preschools by the NSW government, may see people who cannot secure a place in preschool seek out enrolment in long day care, such as G8. I believe the exact opposite will happen.
There are hundreds of not for profit (community) preschools in NSW plus others attached to public schools (run by Dept. of Education, who won't receive the funding) offering 6 hours of care a day for school terms.
IMO a bonus for those parents, who are presently enrolled in LDC such as G8 who will not meet the proposed activity test. Those families will leave LDC and seek positions in a community based preschool.
