Major city councils are trying to acquire or build more early childhood educational facilities to need the demand for places.
Regional councils in Australia are, and have been doing the exact opposite by actively reducing the role they play in offering early childhood education, by leasing out their centres to private operators.
G8 have a large number of centres in those over supply regional areas, some of those centres are operating on very low licensed numbers and would not be returning margins that would be acceptable to G8. Surprised that G8 have not chosen to off load some of those under performing centres to private operators to concentrate on acquiring custom built larger centres in areas of high demand.
