Are Certificate III's and Diploma's worth more money than they currently bring paid, definitely, but comparing the award rate of a Certificate III, who has completed one year of study to that of a primary school teacher who has completed four years at university is sensationalist union grabbing headlines.
I know plenty good centre directors, with four year degrees, in early education earning $90,000 plus.
Basically, if they want to earn the same as primary trained educators and get twelve weeks holiday a year, the solution is simple, do the primary teaching degree.
