Diploma's in Early Childhood were completed in the former Teacher Colleges (1990's) . Bach. Degree's are 4 year university qualifications that come with a substantial HECS debt. Trying to pay a Cert 111 the same award as a Primary Teacher is not reasonable and would open the flood gates to many other issues across other professions if they wanted the same treatment. eg. a workshop mechanic - Mechanical Engineer.
Kindergarten teachers went through a similar campaign a number of years ago, and the Uni qualified teachers were paid the same award salary as their peers in Schools.
