The usual spruiking about placement shortages. Reported new placements required over the next three years 300,000. There are currently almost 7000 ldc in Australia, share that 300,000 between them, family day care, community based, preschool and new service approvals, there will be no problem finding placements.
There are many directors very concerned about the low occupancy numbers they are facing, when the children entering formal schooling leave centres at the end of January. Some of the figures quoted are troubling.
