Mr Carroll didn't state that it was 80 per cent of G8 families, in fact, in his presentation to Macquarie Conference in May last year he stated that "New Childcare Funding package is a benefit to 95% of existing G8 families, with resulting positive impact on occupancy and revenues expected in H2". It looks like a drop from original estimates of The Childcare Funding package for a lot of providers.
Centres will currently still have enrolled, some children who will be leaving at the end of January to attend formal schooling. This inflates the current occupancy levels. A more accurate picture of occupancy should start to appears mid to late February.
