Today Goodstart Early Learning announced that from January 2020, they will no longer be charging parents on public holidays.
As reported :
"GoodStart staff will continue to be paid for the public holidays they are entitled to. Goodstart will absorb some of the cost of no longer charging parents for public holidays, with the remainder of the cost to be met through a fee increase of around $3 per day for the bulk of families (exclusive of Childcare Subsidy) which will allow the change to be made while meeting wage and rent costs".
"Ms Davidson said the majority of families would be better off under the change, however a small percentage of families would see "slight increase" across the year, but fee modelling would ensure this was kept to a minimum".
Parents will welcome this development. Occupancy should increase as well.
