There is an under supply of lithium to supply the ev industry. The prices being paid for battery grade lithium are unbelievable.
The BESS required for this project will be enormous.
From what I understand, there is a higher margin to be made from selling lithium to the ev producers than there is for stationary storage.
It seems like a no brainer that VRFB will need to be part of the BESS.
Where better to source the vanadium electrolyte from than within the same state.
It is some years off before the batteries will be required, enough time for TNG to mine and refine vanadium and produce electrolyte.
