My feeling is that for all the annoyances Gen have caused with regard to back room deals etc. at least they would know the value of what they have.

I think that they would not entertain anything less than 24month highs - and I think that is where the 20% should be added. I know the current climate may not allow that - but Beng may not allow a deal to take place if the conditions are not right.
What does that mean for NKP? Well as all have commented cash position is a concern- particularly if there is a stale mate CR is a possibility, but they have notified there will be no CR until deal is defined/completed.
