In this month, 100 years ago, the Royal Australian Navy was launched.

With history and the RAN in mind, my thoughts turned to another glorious Australian institution - GoConnect, and what it was launching in this month ten or more years ago (we obviously can't go back 100 years, though it might seem like that to shareholders that bought in from the start).

On 14th October 2003 we read: "ABC Asia Pacific and GoConnect launch English Language Learning on wireless and fixed line."

It is salutary to study the history of GCN. There are so many cases where vision turned into a willow-the-wisp.
