I agree - the last six months have been nothing more than a facade to give this whole sorry incident a veneer of due process.

Cougar was probably marked for shutdown from day one - scapegoated by a lab error and benzene levels 600 times lower than found in the air at a petrol station.

I'm not surprised in the least at this decision, which is why I sold a while ago. As soon as it became clear to me that the facts weren't being considered, and hysteria and politicking were the only things that mattered, it was overwhelmingly likely that Kingaroy would be shut down - as I said many times.

Time to forget Queensland and focus on China.
