Typically it's It's 6% to 4%, depending on how valuable you are as a merchant to Afterpay.

Afterpay convinces retailers it's worth it because shoppers paying with Afterpay statistically purchase 18% more (source: https://www.afterpay.com/en-AU/business), that the retailer gets all the payment funds up-front and exposure to an exclusive marketplace and promotions other payment types can't offer.

I know personally from having been technically responsible in integrating web stores to accept Afterpay that a significant number of people choose that payment method - in consumer / retail webstores. And I also know the starting point is 6% margin goes to Afterpay, and I've never seen it above that, but have seen less. I haven't run the numbers to see if the claim that buyers using Afterpay have 18% larger order values, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Perhaps if you named the furniture store you say made claim that Afterpay charges 15%, I'd give your post more credibility - but I suspect like I've seen to many times before you're just spreading misinformation to suit your own narrative.
