Maybe he was just keen to get involved with a scientific project. Not everything has to be about money/business and his comment reads to me like an individual who wants to contribute to a research effort. I didn't check what they were intending to use their DVS equipped satellite for but unless it has some kind of obvious immediate commercial application the fact that he offered to visit in person to assist reads like a geek who wants show off his toys to some science boffins.

I wonder what PVDM would choose to work on first if he didn't have to worry about bringing in dollars...
