Got this gem from a coleague who has knowledge in such matters;

"with DST there is an initial shut-in when the well is perforated. Then you flow the well metering all the fluids you take out and recording the amount of drawdown you put on the reservoir via the choke. This is normally 12hrs+ to make sure you produce from outside the near well bore area. Then you shut the well in and let the pressure build up. The speed and magnitude of the build up is valuable information about how the reservoir behaves at boundary conditions. If you have a good handle on the geology of the structure (permeability, porosity etc) then you can use this pressure data in a reservoir simulator to estimate volume and hence water contact"

So this means they don't have enough data points to figure out the detials of the reservoir and will continue to test further.
To be spending the amount of cash per day these guys are and have this well being a dud seems highly unlikely. I've jumped back in today although caught a few falling knives in the process, but so be it. Time will tell.
