Daniel. It’s the death knell for Queensland coal mining. Sorry to be dramatic but this royalty increase is huge. It will limit or completely stop new investment and absolutely kills the financial models put in place to buy BMAs assets. Add all the other input costs that will spiral out of control. Energy costs being the main one. It’s a terrible day for the industry in QLD. The ramifications will be huge. Less supply higher cost for coal generators. The QLD Govt are greedy dropkicks who are ideologically opposed to coal. I don’t realise how much until I saw this today.
