There is other corres on CXM regarding the nature of Port Lincoln. Anyone wanting to use iron ore road trains to Proper Bay will have to be ready for battle, the road goes through some prime real estate. I understand that the railway will connect from the Eyre Peninsula system to the former BHP Coffin Bay alignment which fed mineral sands to Proper Bay wharf. Last time I looked, the store shed was still there. Only main issue is that train length may be limited to the track length beyond the unloader. Others including IFE Wilchery and Weednanna are north west of Buckleboo which recently lost its rail service to the wheat silo and, if this reopens, rail links to Proper Bay would be available. Interesting that CXM have joined the Port Bonython Bulk Users Group, that rail link is mainly of benefit to WP, IXR and BHP Roxby. CXM Bungalow has no chance of rail and trucks would have to go through residential aras of Whyalla or Port Lincoln.
Bit of a contradiction to have exclusive rights to Proper Bay and to offer open access.
I don't hold any of the above
