Yes total shorts are what you said but you corrupt the data because you want to blame somone. During the period of your concern the stok only went up. 5.23 to 5.80 yet you blame shorters for making it go down??? At least 4 of your budies gave you an up vote without doing any investagation which was easy. Just a sample of last few days.

3 may there were 26 M shorts 4 may 28 M stock went up 6 cents the opisit of what short increased would cause.
on 5 may shorts went up to 29.4M Stock went up 10 cents again back wards from your claims
6 May shorts down to 27 M stock Flat this should have made it go up t
7 may shorts sored to 31M stock went up 10 more cents.
So the entire periode you talked about the stock went up from 5.23 to 5.80 with out a single down day while shorts increased from 19 M to 31M. You do not even have any data on the shorts this week when stock dropped yet you want to blame shorters!!! Just a desperate dreamer that has to blame somone for his lack of understanding of what is going on. Shorters are just people trying to make money like all of us. They harbor no malace against the stocks they are shorting. They just see the data from a diferent view. Before you blame others for your woes try at least to get some data to back up your opinion. I never short stocks I do buy puts. US law will not let me do shorts or puts on Lynas. If I own a stock and shorts or puts increase the first thing I ask are shorters seeing something I am not seeing. There has been lots to see since Q report that is negative maybe you should try and figure out what it is. Lets waite and see what shorts did during this weeks drop.

Can anbody explain how shorters caused stock to go up during this period? In the US when you sell short the shares are added emidiatly there is no delay. If AU is different then post how it works in AU with references to the ASX page that explains it.
