In qualified defence of martis. Presumptuous , I know, and not supposing he needs me to defend him.

He is right, but his time frame is far too short. (About 100 years or so too short.)

My guess, bear market for the next 100 years, followed by oblivion.

Just as in the past 100 years we have had theories developed to profit from a long bull market, so we must all adapt to the opposite ie shorting theories suited to the next 100 years.

I am prepared to bet anyone $1M, that my theory will prove to be correct; (after an appropriate elapsed period of time.)

This is not to say that we forget all we know; markets will continue to act like markets, until they don't.
