As news was breaking in Australia that the new Spider-Man movie had just set a 5 day long weekend (Thurs-Mm) box office record of $13 million for Australia,
funtastic’s Managing Director, David Hendy, reported that h e had just been advised that Funtastic will receive exclusive Australian toy rights for the much awaited movie launch of The Incredible Hulk by Universal Pictures in February 2003.
Mr Hendy, in New York for the world-wide Licensing Show said that The incredible Hulk was one of the most exciting and most talked about licenses for the 2003 year Spider-Man’s Australian success follows box office history already created in the US, Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia, Latin America, Thailand, Lebanon and Jordan and with 2004 already set down for the release of the Spider-Man sequel, funtastic is
well placed to capitalise on the super hero popularity.
funtastic’s Spider-Man merchandise continues to receive strong retail support; and very healthy orders for Spider-Man product in respect to the second half of the year in toy range and other associated products.
