incredible use of internet data last 12 months

I just heard on foxtel share info page channel 602 that the use of internet data over the last 12 months has increased by more than the collective data that was used in all previous years since the internet first commenced.
What an incredible fact.
I had some relations visit me in Narooma over xmas, one young lady had two 2 year old twins, both had I-phones which they patted away at apps every night.
Down at Narooma plaza/woollies area, two aboriginal kids were riding scooters about 400 metres apart ringing each other up.
Up near the Narooma golf course two young girls about 10 years old were running 200 metres apart phoning each other.

With new births, new immigrants arriving daily,wanting to contact relatives,, asylum seekers, , older people learning to use ipads, I/phones and laptops, expanding use of social media use-age, new apps and new sites, when will this internet usage ever reach maturity? anyone care to guess.
