I'm pretty sure the board and CEO have been stimulating a bidding war for a number of years. I'm also sure there has been a few threats and warning shots across the bows, but no skirmishes of any meaning up to this point (go with me, I'm working the 'war' analogy).
VLA is now officially constrained from shopping the deal, so hopefully the agitation with potential bidders over the past years stimulates some action. Who knows, maybe they've been told already that this is the only bid thats going to come from the market?
Maybe they can have engaged their remaining influential shareholders to continue discussions with other parties as their proxy? Gotta hand it to Lepu though. Gotta be the easiest $30m they ever trousered.
