Hi WS
I've been supporting VLA since 2009, when the SP was equivalent to around $0.38 and I'm now free-carried. I'm enjoying the healthy boost to the paper profits today...but, I agree with you that the take-over bid is incredulous...
In Jan 2010, another of my early purchases of VLA was for $0.10 - prior to the 10:1 consolidation in Aug 2011 - so this would be equivalent to $1:00 today. I recall a spike that took the price over the equivalent of $2:00. That's a long time to see such a small appreciation in the share price, particularly when you add in all the progress, trials, impressive results and data over the past 8-9 years.
I sincerely hope the BOD are being tactical (ie priming for a bidding war) rather than simply giving away a decade of innovation, research and trials for an absolute steal.
Cheers
Di
