India's navy apparently interesting in the Short Take Off Verticle Landing (STOVL) variant, and the US seems to be more relaxed about doing so. Need nice new stealthy aircraft for the new flat-tops they are building.
Article says they might be happy to sell to India considering China's growing dominance.
