Interesting article in The Australian this weekend. India will need coal for decades to come, to provide base load power for it's millions of impoverished citizens, who now rely on the likes of dry dung for cooking fuel, and have no electricity, and suffer chronic lung diseases brought on by smoke from fires, burning inside their homes. The people in Kingaroy should have to live in such conditions to see for themselves how important coal for base load power is, clean burning coal like Moreton Resources would like to mine.
If a peanut disease decimated their peanut farms, they might wish they had another source of income like mining.
