I think alot of what has been said is true.
My mother before she retired last year worked with overseas students. ( for a uni)
When they put hair dressing on the list to obtain permanent residence.
She would have overseas students ask for release from there degrees in eg. medicine. As they had decided to study something else.
She would ask them what the new course was? They would say 'hairdressing'
