I 't disagree with your view that Indian Weddings will go ahead despite the price of gold however, you should appreciate that, on average, indian brides wear 2 pounds (1kg) of gold or approx $30,000 of gold at their weddings.
How they manage to dance with their hands and heads uplifted under all that weight, heaven only knows!
PS: It is often said that a brides gold endowment is akin to the US teenagers college fund.
