    several important factors denote the difference bacci.

    • the much larger population of Indian nationals in India meant that, despite the lack of white overlords being arrested, there was no clear case able to be made of over-representation of Indians in prisons,
    • Indians weren't subjected to "missions" restrictions, forced to live in a camp with other tribes with whom there were conflicts
    • Indians were paid for their efforts
    • Indians had a religion which restricted their use of alcohol - this one is a key difference.
    • Indians had a very strong figure in Gandhi who was able to return Indian self-respect.
    • Indians always vastly outnumbered white colonial rulers.

    Aus Aboriginal people suffered greater indignities and felt them much more strongly due to their much smaller numbers proportional to colonists.

    Having said that, many Aboriginal people are able to live within the dominant white culture and adapt. its only the worst affected who remain in such enormous difficulties.
