Thermal coal production in India has topped out, and will probably start declining in the next few years (pull up a historical chart of coal production in England to see what happens). Much of the touted reserves are either under protected forest or cities and will remain inaccessible. The Indians are crazily buying up coal assets in Australia, They've pegged half the Galilee basin for themselves, they bought a coal mine in the Collie basin last year (the only other WA coal mine was bought out by the Japanese). They bought a Qld port recently... it's crazy that Australians are basically giving the stuff away for FREE!.
