Here is another stat that im aware of: Never in history has inflation risen above 5%, and then fallen back under 5%, without the Fed funds rate also getting to 5%. Never in history. Now we could argue the biggest causes for inflation throughout history, but i still believe thats a historical data point that people either dont know about or are choosing to ignore. "This time is different" are dangerous words.
If that stat is incorrect please let me know. I saw/heard it someone recently but cant remember where. May have been a financial podcast i was listening to.
