Indonesia’s oil and gas industry met 99 percent of its oil production target for the first half of this year and netted $300 million more in revenue than it originally hoped for, the country’s oil and gas regulator said on Wednesday.
SKKMigas said the industry produced an average of 831,118 barrels of oil per day, only 1 percent less than the 840,000-barrel target set in the revised 2013 state budget.
Revenue, meanwhile, reached $18.7 billion, which represents a slight increase from its $18.4 billion goal.
“[Reaching] 99 percent of our intended production has never occurred over the past three years,” SKKMigas said in a statement.
SKKMigas named seven production sharing contractors that helped the industry reach this “achievement”: ConocoPhillips Indonesia, Vico Indonesia, Medco E&P Indonesia (S&C Sumatera), PHE ONWJ, Chevron Pacific Indonesia, Medco E&P Indonesia (Rimau) and ConocoPhillips (Grissik).
In the the first half of 2013, a total of 178 production sharing contractors conducted explorations in Indonesia, with 76 contractors recording oil and gas production, Indonesian news portal kompas.com reported.
