Indonesia bans coal exports in January over domestic supply worries, page-10

Hey Jo Jo, Happy new year and all that. A couple of other posts have commented. The ban is on all coals but is really intended to provide security of supply to domestic power stations when stocks reach critical levels. I believe this has been done before and is a short lived action designed to kick coal miners up the arse to remember to keep supply up to the lower priced domestic requirements. If it is extended for any duration I believe coking coal will get relief as it is not targeted at this product. Any short term fear in the global market of losing Indo supply is a good thing if you have other coal interests. Suspect it will blow over and normal transmission will resume.
