Jake Drage was arrested after a traffic accident and I can remember feeling sorry for the guy after reading his story below.
You have to wonder if it was a teenage Oz tourist with her mother on the back who had been killed, with an Indonesian local in Jake's position, would they have jailed the daughter?

Getting to the point, Jake quickly converted to Islam while in custody and that might have helped him escape the death penalty.
You have to wonder, now he's been released, does he still practice Islam? Guessing he doesn't and will never return to Bali but could be wrong.

Can you imagine if that accident had happened here and an Indonesian had been jailed under the same circumstances, converting to Christianity before sentencing while in custody and the ramifications?
