It's asia what do you expect, virtually every cop can be bought or will turn the other way if a colleague is corrupt. Most people there perceive white people as rich so if you cough up enough cash you can buy yourself freedom. Its a cultural thing, if you want anything done be it getting some id or something more serious. In saying that in the west if you have enough cash you find yourself a great lawyer and can get of murder. Im of sri lankan descent, so whenever i go overseas i use my lankan passport unless i'm at the airport.
