Tony Abbott's hairy chested attempt to bluff his way through the gaffes he has made is imploding before our very eyes:
"... Australian intelligence agencies have promised to stop phone tapping Indonesians, the Indonesian intelligence chief has said, as reports emerge that Indonesia has downgraded its official relationship with Australia. ..."
"... Speaking at a press conference this afternoon, Mr Yudhoyono also announced he will write to Prime Minister Tony Abbott to demand an official explanation on why Australian spies tried to tap his phone...."
What was so easy to fix a few days ago has now led to the downgrade of Indonesia's relations with Australia and to the suspension of cooperation on matters such as people smuggling with the likelihood of worse to come.
Abbott's great big election promise to stop the boats is looking as sick as a greyhound that lost every race. If he cannot deliver on the front he's up the proverbial creek without a paddle so SBY has him by the short-n-curlies and knows it.
