the bit about illegal immigrants presently in Indonesia perhaps now getting the green light to move onto Australia is a realistic expectation. Beginning with the refugees from Vietnam, Indonesia and their neighbours have been the stopping off point for many asylum seekers heading for Australia, ending up as the unfortunate host to those who haven't been able to make it all the way. Singapore and Malaysia were better able to turn them away and ensure they kept moving, but Indonesia by virtue of it's geography has not been so fortunate. There is next to nothing to support even genuine refugees in Indonesia so it would only be a very stupid asylum seeker that wouldn't want to continue onto Australia if they think they have even half a chance of getting in.
