My point was that Singapore committed a judicial killing with hardly a word of protest from us. Our citizens weren't to know the Singapore government would change its practices following Mr Nguyen's execution. I find the contrast quite strange.
There is a 'circus of bravado' in this country too. This does not help our two citizens facing execution, it only makes it more certain.
I'm also disappointed that Mr Widodo has started allowing death sentences to be carried out after this punishment was suspended for so long during Mr Yudhoyno's tenure. However I continue to admire his political savvy and his willingness to act in his country's best interests on other issues in the face of great difficulties.
