Bali nine linked to big drug syndicate

"Andrew Chan, said to be a key organiser of the Australian smuggling network, is said to have broken his silence at the weekend and started revealing what he knows to police.
The information Chan is said to be giving is considered so important that Brigadier-General Gorries Mere, the operational head of Indonesia's National Narcotics Bureau, travelled to Bali to personally interview him on Saturday.

Indonesian police say they believe Chan booked a room in a hotel room in Bali's Kuta area where the transfer of the heroin from Crescent Moon to the Australians is believed to have taken place.


Bali police are said to have missed the drop even though they had Chan under surveillance."
