indonesian ban on ore export

I am interested to hear your opinions on this ...

Sunday (12 Jan) is the day where the "no ore export policy" should come into effect in Indonesia. Given that Indonesia produces a large chunk of the world nickel, I would have thought that should have an effect on the nickel price. What is the general consent on this?

So far, we didn't see an appreciation in the NI price at all. In fact the opposite is the case. At the same time LME inventories continued to increase (slight reduction though for the last 3 or 4 days, so there is hope ... although I am not holding my breath ...).
