I recall reading the Rise and Fall of the Third Chimpanzee by Jim Penman of Australia. At the end of book (it was about the rise and fall of empires) Penman took a stab at predicting the future. One scenario he pictured was a situation where China stepped in (on behalf of Oz) to help curtail the uncontrolled mass migration of Indonesians to Australia.
