In all the commentary and coverage of this situation, I haven't heard anyone raise, what is to me, the obvious question. Why? Why in August 2009 did we, as in the Australian Government, need to spy on the Indonesian president at that time. Some quick research tells me that something of great significance occurred in early August that year.
