Indos will come a big fat thud. when they have to deal with Abbott.

Anyone who knows the place well - as with a lot of these ounrties in that region - is that corruption is entrenched in layers - going right to the top.

One CANNOT run a business up there without every palm greasing. The bigger the venture, the bigger the pay outs.

Of course the Government make rude noises at Abbott. They know, full well, he's about to rain on the parade!

A yank once went to Bali. Bought a luxury hotel, on the ocean. Back then, one of Bali's best! Wouldn't play by the rules - the game - big money under the counter please buster, or else!). (or more like it - either didn't understand them - or chose to ignore them). HE ended up with NO hotel - and lived on a yacht along the coast - broke, but a heck of a lot wiser. Not a darn thing he could do about it.He naively did it the Western way - and came a big fat thud!

We need strength and determination from Abbott. This is a crazy maze - of corruption, big time - and dangerous games being played. It's another planet entirely.

We have a Western friend who was murdered up there - for a lot less. Another one in the Philippines - wouldn't cough up, again, over some hotel business argument. He was shot. In travel industry. An Aussie - from Melbourne. Took people at face value as "nice".

Things may have improved. But the signals should always be on amber!
