Hongpo* writes: Graphene is undoubtedly emerging as the most promising nano-material because of its unique combination of superb properties. On September 19, 2012, the world’s first graphene production line started construction — it has an anticipated annual production capacity of 300 tonnes. According to Zhejiang Online, this project has been established by Ningbo Morsh Technology Co., Ltd. and is located in Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province in Southern China. This project will be formally put into production in 2013, to produce high quality material, on a large scale, at low cost and in a reproducible manner, meaning the commercializing graphene.This will ultimately open a way for graphene’s exploitation in a wide spectrum of applications around the world. I think that the revolutionary era of industrial scale graphene is coming.

Ningbo Morsh Technology relies on the power of Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology & Engineering, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Research Institute’s lithium battery technology research team, that is engaged in research and development of the graphene industry and technology, as well as production and sales of graphene. Their graphene technology research and development began in 2008. The high cost of graphene is one of the major obstacles to its widespread adoption for commercial applications at this time.
