What on earth am I reading?
The largest industry funds are the top performers over longer periods due to their ability to invest in large illiquid unlisted assets which the smaller funds cannot do. So the more money the better, and long term outperformance can hardly be descibed as a fad.
Moreover, left and right has nothing to do with it - the future fund has a similar investment strategy.
If you think industry super’s advertising is misleading then report it to ACCC and/or ASIC. Industry funds are regulated and subject to the same consumer law and corporations law as retail funds. Hostplus copped a fine recently for making misleading statements in relation to the independence of its financial advice business.
