What nowfor Clarity Pharmaceuticals (ASX: CU6) as Fusion Pharma (NASDAQ: FUSN) getsacquired by AstraZeneca for $2.4 million, sending the share price skyrocketing byabout 100%!
Fusion Pharma’sstock shot up from $10 to over $21.00 a share during premarket at yesterday'sNew York trading, following an announcement of its agreement to a buyout byAstraZeneca!
Clarity (ASX:CU6) has a pipeline that uses a similar approach to Fusion’s (radioisotopetreatment for targeted cancers), with both looking like they are fighting for futuresupremacy in the treatment of prostate cancer.
Looking atthe corresponding pipelines, I see so much more to like in the CU6 pipeline, whichincludes diagnostics, and has 5 candidates at Phase 2 or higher, versus justone in Phase 2 for Fusion. Further, the newsflow from Clarity (CU6) has beenquite impressive in the last few months. Their results have been brilliant.
To me,there is a lot more to like about CU6, than what Fusion seems to have. So, Iexpect CU6 will attract some interest, if not already!
Do I wishfor a buyout: I actually do. It will help advance things faster, and may juststop AstraZeneca and Fusion from sprinting ahead, and stealing the market. But,I hope its going to be really big, not just 100%!
