This is interesting ... the WSJ is reporting that the Fair Trade Commission is looking to block the Amgen $US27.8 bill deal to buy Horizon for anti-trust (ie anti competitive) reasons.
One would think, while not so good for Horizon shareholders, big pharma buying small biotechs like RAC, with still to be commercialised drugs, would not attract such anti-trust grief from the FTC, and so perhaps be a more attractive & successful alternate strategy for them .....
