Further to yesterdays WSJ article (above) about Roche buying a phase 2 drug for $US 7bill, here is a very fascinating follow up article - highlighting a number of familiar & very relevant points to RAC/bisantrene, namely
1) BP 'will often overlook one of their own hot prospects'. Sound familiar ?
2) BP is more than happy for biotechs to 'shoulder the heavy costs' of developing a drug
3) The mega blockbuster potential for drugs that work in multipe indications
4) How quickly a deal can occur, at any time
5) Very high prices can be & are paid for phase 2, non FDA approved drugs
